In most photovoltaic systems, the dc isolator is integrated into the dc/ac power inverter. After switching off the dc isolator, the cables between the dc solar modules and dc/ac power inverter running through the building are still subject to up to 1000 v dc. in the event of a fire, firefighters are exposed to a very serious source of potential danger. The ONCCY firefighter safety switch provides the solution. It directly disconnects the dc current in close proximity to the solar modules and creates a safer situation for firefighters.
The first step for any firefighter in fighting a fire is to shut down the main AC power circuit. This makes it possible to start extinguishing the actual fire without the risk of electrocution. Onccy developed the Firefighter safety Switch according to this standard international safety routine. This prevents firefighters from having to take any extra action in case of a fire, maximizing their and your safety in the event of a fire.
As soon as a firefighter shuts down the main AC circuit, the ERS/ERP will detect this. If this power down situation lasts longer than 5 seconds, the ERS/ERP will automatically switch to the OFF position. Since the ERS/ERP is located close to the PV modules, the high voltage DC current from the PV modules will be completely isolated, which leaves a safe situation for the firefighters when fighting a fire in the commercial or residential building.

ERS series firefighter safety switch is applied to residential PV system or industrial and commercial PV system, its maximum loop voltage can be up to 1600V which meets the requirements of high-power panel.
ERS series firefighter safety switch matches international standard firefighter working procedure. When a fire occurs in the photovoltaic system, the AC side will be disconnected firstly.
On the other hand, relying on advanced temperature sensor to real-time monitoring the temperature inside the enclosure, ONCCY's firefighter safety switch can automatically disconnect the switch if the inside temperature exceeds 70ºC.
The ERS series ERS DC Isolator and can be used directly with PV panels. In case of fire, the firefighter safety switch can rapidly shut down the PV array, without any risk of high DC voltage. If the client wants the entire roof to achieve an even lower DC voltage (e.g. under 80V ~ 120V), it is possible to apply multiple safety switches (one for each 2-3 panels) to ensure maximum safety.
ERS series firefighter safety switch resets automatically. When the AC power supply is turned off (e.g. during a power cut) and then the supply is restored, the ERS series will reand connect the circuit quickly and automatically. The client doesn't need to reit manually each time.
When ERS product is installed in the system, in case the AC circuit has no power such as during a power cut, powerline maintenance or grid failure, the DC circuit will be automatically shut down. This will greatly prolong the life of the solar inverters, and makes it safer to repair or replace solar inverters.
